Save some money and go with a Fuji F20 for $169, or if you forsee using semi-manual controls at some point in the future, the F30 for $209 after a $50 rebate.

They have the same lens and sensor, the F30 has stuff like aperture- or shutter-priority auto modes and some more advanced controls whereas the F20 does not. The big advantage with both of these cameras is they have a very solid lens, and the sensor kicks the crap out of any other non-SLR sensor in overall image quality, and specifically in per-pixel sharpness, overall noise performance, low-light noise performance, and high ISO noise performance. What that means is either one is the ultimate camera for having social pictures in dark bars come out nice and clear.
