I purchased the car in August '99. I only notice the peeling paint under the rear window in 2005. My guess is it started before then but because of the location if was hard to detect and by the time I saw it, it was really coming off. It was also peeling on the upper spoiler but I thought it was because it was scratched and it was natural for it to peel like that.

Honda Canada, as a goodwill gesture, paid for over half of that. Now, in September 2006, I was spraywashing it and the paint came away on the hatch. Honda Canada will do nothing for me. I had it painted and the body shop won't warranty it because I'm told the factory paint and primer are defective. Honda says too bad for me, it's not under warranty.

My car has 93,000 on it. I have it maintained regularly and look after it. I was hoping to have it another 7 years. It'll cost me at least $3,000 to have it redone. I don't know that I'll buy a Honda again.

Has anyone had this happen to their car?
