i went through the exact same thing with my dad.
How stupid are these agencies. Despite having the same name the SS # is totally different.
I owed money on state taxes and I never knew that until they put a lean on my dads credit when he tried to refinance our house. Thats how we found out.
Took me almost 3-4 months to straighten this out.
