My rethreaded spark plug hole has been functioning beautifully for 2 years now. A legitimate machine shop can get that spark plug out and make it as if it had never happened.

$50 for the machine shop to get the bolt out is much more cost effective than a different head. LS heads are pretty cheap, though, so if you can find one in good condition for less than a machine shop would charge to extract the spark plug, that would probably be less of a hassle.
