there is a recall, but only for the 00 and 01

again.... some(few) dealers are nice and may cover 1/2 or all of the cost, if you nicely explain your situation since you have a low mileage on your 98. If not, then contact Honda of America. if not, then be prepared to buy a new tranny.... or you can try your luck at the junkyard for cheaper.
