If I remember correctly there is a CV Joint that makes a clicking noise when it goes out, usually when you turn corners. I have replaced CV joints in one of my old cars. The joint is covered by a boot that I believe is attached to the driveshaft. the boot has grease in it. Sometimes the boot will get torn, dry out, and burn up the joint. I believe it was like 150 to replace.
