'94 Accord not Shifting
i did some searches, but most are that they shift hard. my problem is that the car does not shift when warm. if it has been sitting for a while, its fine, but as soon as i drive for 20 minutes or so, it starts. its a slow problem, first its a long delay to shift from 2 to 3, and then it keeps slipping out of third unless i move the shifter into 3rd. then, i lose 4th gear altogether and 3rd starts slipping more and more (stop and go, if i'm in 4th driving on the freeway, its fine). then, it wont even run in gear, it sits in like a neutral gear, no matter what position the shifter is in. it has progressively gotten worse over the past 2 weeks.
i asked transmission shops, and Honda, how much to flush the tranny (yes, i read on here that it is not good to flush older transmissions, but just change out the fluid), and my most trusted shop told me that it needed a new electronic box but he couldn't come up with the name of it. is he referring to changing out the TCU, as i heard it is a problem with 3rd gen (90-93), not necessary 4th gen (isn't that what i have?).
so, in short, my 2 questions are:
1) should i have the transmission flushed (190k on both tranny(original, never serviced) and engine.
2) what is the electronic box that they are referring to, and can it be picked up from a junkyard reliably?
