Both options are configurable in about:config:
set ui.key.contentAccess to 4 for the Alt+S issue (or try to get used to the new default: Alt+Shift+S resp. Ctrl+Shift+S on Linux)
set browser.backspace_action to 0 for the Backspace issue (this should be the default under Windows but not under Linux)
