so i fixed the problem today. replaced my dist. cap, wires, plugs, and rotor.
in addition i think what really fixed the prob was replacing the egr plate. underneath was full of carbon deposits. a screwdriver i had would not fit into the holes but after a bit of cleaning the shaft of the screwdriver fit perfectly. carb cleaner is the best, it destroys carbon crap. i let the engnine run for a while and it shot out white shit for a bit. at first idle was wicked rough (cuz of the carbon that fell into the intake manifold + carb cleaner) so i revved it a bit and then went for a long anticipated full throttle redlining adventure...and then a cop got behind me...
