Cracked Oil Pan and Check Engine light
Im kinda new to the site and looking for some help. Heres the story:
I drove my lowered 99 Accord V6 overs some sewer thing and ended up cracking my oil pan so the oil is leaking out slowly. Repair shops are trying to charge me 300-450 to repair. I just plan on draining the oil, grind it, and use some JB Weld to fix that problem. My bigger problem is that before the I new the pan was cracked, all the oil drained to a dangerously low level and the CHECK ENGINE light and LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. I immediately put a temporary patch and refilled the oil. My CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is still on and I got code P1259(VTEC System Malfunction). Im looking to see how I can determine If the i actually damaged something on the VTEC system when i hit the sewer or was the CHECK ENGINE light just triggered when the oil reached a really low level. Help Please.
