I recently bought a AEM CAI and the beather hose seems a little too big in diameter, it is 1/2". The water hose seems like it will not be long enough to reach (it might just barely). It IS for a 96 GSR which I own. So I was just wondering if that is the correct size, and if not what type of hose is good to use as a replacement? Also, I think I noticed a few cracks in the breather hose, could that cause problems? Thanks in advance!
There is a inlet on the back side of your valve cover for the head to breath. In a stock configuration this is a rubber hose that attaches to a metal hose that inturn attaches to the rubber, stock intake arm. Attached to the metal hose is a coolant metal hose as well that takes collant from the engine to the throttle body. You want to remove the metal hose from the intake arm and the rubber hose between the metal hose and the valve cover. Once your AEM CAI is installed use the rubber hose that came with it to connect the CAI to the valve cover using the inlets available on each. There should be clamps that will hold the rubber hose in place on the inlets.
