Don't work out if you have any back problems. Your body uses your back for a lot of balance, and working out stresses your body enough when you're perfectly healthy. Pace yourself, and recovering from injury should always take precidence.

Especially lower back injuries. It will probably take a while to get over it, but I would look into getting some massage therapy on it. I had some done on my lower back and it felt a lot better, along with some of the electrical stimulation shizzle.
I just concluded my first month back after the shoulder injury yesterday. Only worked out 3 days/week, didn't do any shoulder/back exercises except rotator cuff rehab stuff. Did super light weights, high reps...just trying to strengthen my shoulder up for the heavy lifting winter sesh. Might try and work out a little more often now, we'll see. I really need to start running...might start today in fact.
