It's a big difference, the LS1 pretty much bolts in to the 3G Camaro/Firebird body with factory parts, that chassis was made for a smallblock and the TPI electricals aren't bad. K-series engines are much larger then the original D-series engines, much more complicated control systems, and even spin the opposite way... the exhaust manifold is on the firewall side of the engine. If you really want to get into it, check HASport.com. The complete mounting set is going to run around $2k plus your choice of controlling electronics. The engine and trans set pulls around $4k plus shipping costs.

If you simply want VTEC, you can install a 125hp single cam VTEC D16Z6 for under a grand, B series engines for a bit more, and even H-series Prelude swaps are still cheaper then K's.
