im willing to bet you that longevity of that 10 will not decrease with that given amount of power vs the proper amount of power that is recommended.
that sub will handle 1000rms all day, daily. in the right conditions or course: clean signal, proper box. i beat the shit out of my type r 12 for months, with more power then what i recommend in the first place, and it never crapped out on me once. of course it stank but never once failed me.
if you
were to max out the volume on your headunit, of course you're gonna start blowing shit up due to clipping. this goes for most decks out there, if not all. there's a limit to where you can turn it up to not clip.
