Either is good and works fine but if you are prone to dropping it or being around wet environments or extreme cold the flash memory holds up many times better. The battery life is also better on flash units because it doesn't have to spin a disc and move the armature to read the music file.

My argument is a bit one sided because I am biased towards flash memory esecially since I am around harsh environments all the time.
I agree though. Less moving parts = less chance of failure down the road.
