I liked the 24 hour battery life on the Nano, becuase I go on airplanes a lot, and 16-20 hour flights..and airport waiting..the Nano worked.
Its just I want to make sure for $250 bucks I am getting the best bang for my buck, and not being stupid for not considering the Ipod video more?
Flash is solid state circuitry whereas drive base stores on a small hard drive (moving parts).
Either is good and works fine but if you are prone to dropping it or being around wet environments or extreme cold the flash memory holds up many times better. The battery life is also better on flash units because it doesn't have to spin a disc and move the armature to read the music file.
My argument is a bit one sided because I am biased towards flash memory esecially since I am around harsh environments all the time.
