I have much respect for the autcross scene but that type of racing takes a serious enthusiast to make civic competitive also.
And I bet there are people there that say the same thing about you when you go there. Racing is like weightlifting...no matter how fast/strong, there will always be someone better...does that mean you shouldn't go to the gym??? No.
