why discs i record at home on my DVD recorder don't work anything else.

it is a samsung recorder and it seems that the DVD's i record only work with that player.

it is really getting under my skin because i have a few movies i want to watch but can't just because nothing will read it.

whats more is my computer's +/-RW drive won't even recognize that there is data on the disc, whats going on?
