It was a little tricky for me. I have a '99 with the I4 but I'd assume the doors are the same. The panel is held by a series of plugs, for lack of a better word, that snap into or out of place when you pull/push on the panel. But be careful, don't force the panel. Just pull slowly and each plug should pop out of place. I removed the whole lower part of the door panel this way then wedged a screwdriver against the door and the panel on the lower part of the panel to give me enough clearance to get the old speaker out and the new one in. I didn't try to remove the whole panel, I couldn't figure out how to remove the top where the handle and all the door/window switches were at. It was sort of a pain in the arse to just unsnap the bottom and try to work from under the door but I didn't want to remove the whole door panel and mess with the electrical stuff. I'm sure theres a better way than I did it, but it was pretty easy and quick and didn't screw anything up.
