Default A very strange swap

I, awhile back, blew up the motor in my GSR. It's been sitting in my garage and I've been slowly getting it ready to rebuild. I am going to rear engine it, only because it seems like it will frustrate the hell out of me and for some reason I enjoy that. Mounting the engine and refabing the rear of the car I think is relatively feasable to house a Honda motor, the width of the car is the same front to back, but the transmission is what I'm having problems with. If I use either a K series or a B series and mount the engine so I can still shift, the car will go backwards, but since the Kseries and Bseries motors have transmissions on opposite sides of the motor, if I use either motor with the others transmission, the car will have the shifter in the right place. The only difference would be that the 1-5 shift pattern is inverted, which I could get used to. Does anyone know if the transmissions could be adapted one way or the other. I would assume that a little engineering, my trade, could yield an adaptor plate, but sometimes that is not always possible. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
