i hope you have a helms b/c it makes it so much easier to do this

1. you have to remove the whole engine/tranny b/c you have to pull the tranny off the engine (the mainshaft is 6 inches long)

2. to remove the axles...you have to break the axle nuts...you have to pry the bent part of it out of the groove and then lower the car withe the tires on and break the nut (32mm wrench and used a 2' pipe to get more torque then jump on it to get it off)...remove hte lower ball joints by taking off the cotter pins and then the castle nut underneath..then banging with a rubber mallet next to the ball joint on the lower suspsion arm while pulling up as hard as you can...it should pop off...then pull the hub off the axle and bag the end...next take a pry bar (1 mm thick at the end) and pry it between the tranny housing and the axle...should pop right off) bag the end of the axles and stuff a clean rag in the hole in the tranny to keep oil from leaking out

3. don't try to take off the engine wiring harness until the old engine is off...its much easier and prevents you from stripping flange bolts (just detach the main engine wiring harness (that is the one attached to the engine itself) from the engine bay wiring harness (should be detached on both the drivers and passenger side of the engine bay)...once its out label where all vacuum lines and wires went (i used a paint pen)

good luck
