Yes, replacing the battery reset the car stereo. You need to enter a code to get it working again. It's an anti-theft measure that many auto manufacturers impement in their car stereo's. I'm not sure exactly where you find the code as I got rid of my crappy stock stereo a long time ago. Hopefully you have the code with your car's documentation, like the owners manual or what not.
