basically take the cap, rotor off then remove the coil inside the distributor housing. Then drill through the existing coil wire connector and run the new coil extension wire up through that hole to the spot where the old coil was. Then its easy just mound the external coil wherever you want. Honda stock coils are extremely weak when you try to add power to the cars. Just by changing out from a stock- to- a - performance coil can tripple your voltage output. Since Hondas distributors are most of the time internal coils, in conjunction with the distributor they didn't have enough room to give Honda owners enough power because the "performance size" coils are much too big.
