i did a lot of research on this a while back. apparently the b20 in your 3rd gen lude is a lot different than the CR-V b20. like, enough so that VTEC-ing it will be next to impossible, as well as very expensive. furthermore, swapping other b-motors into the car is very tough because of the way the motor sits in that car. the hood won't clear. on top of that, the motor leans back a hair, which the other b-series motors don't like, apparently. this is on top of the fact that nobody makes the motor mounts you need, and finding the associated shit will be tough (axles, shift linkage, etc). your best bet is the h22, believe it or not. it can handle the lean, and it has been done before, but hood clearance is tight i think. good luck! use the search feature here, and on honda-tech. you'll find some good threads, as well as my old threads.
