How many miles are on your accord presently? Just a heads up, the speed sensor died on my '96 at 124,000. I was told it was a fairly common thing with 5th gens. The dealership fixed it for me at no charge. I was pretty shocked, actually, since I bought the car from them five years and 80,000 miles ago. They said it was covered. I wasn't about to argue.

Anyway, I only lost about 30 miles on the speedo (which of course, doesn't move when the sensor doesn't work), so they said not to worry about it. They probably would have rolled it up for me if it'd had been a more significant number of miles. If I were you, I'd call a Honda dealer about it and see what they say. Maybe mention your mileage, and ask about the speed sensor.

Oh, and when I traded the car in, they asked if the mileage was accurate, and I said "as a matter of fact, no. It's about 20-30 miles short." I guess that makes me honest.
