Pat if you are planning on image editing on your laptop I would strongly reccomend an Apple over any PC based laptop out there.

Reason simply is the screen itself displays colors truer than any screen available on any PC laptop and holds consistent color qualities. Not sure what they did but they sure as hell did it right. My editor does all his edits on his Mac and they come out consistent and very high quality. I have edited on my laptop after calibrating and it is a nightmare when I look at it on my calibrated PC screen.

Mac also does run PS a bit more efficiently than a PC (yes it is true) but not amazingly so until you get to the laptop application You can run word and most if not all of MS Office and files are compatible back and forth through other means as well.
