I'm not at all a fan of the thicker head gasket 'route'. Especially if it's already 11:1... the thicker hg isn't going to make much of a difference on the compression unless you really put a monster head gasket on there, but then you run a higher chance of blowing it. I'd say just tune it for the 11:1 at a low boost and save up to put lower compression pistons in - like 10:1 or 9.5:1. If you're going to get a loan anyway, just get the pistons and a new HG and just redo that stuff... It's not hard at all... jmo.
