You guys are ok the main thing is when you start up the car, that the lights dont stay on or come on while you are driving. As far as time period those lights should be on for after starting the car, 5 seconds is Honda's big thing for some reason and on newer models those 5 seconds include beeping which gets annoying im sure. DONT WORRY you won't be spending any money on these two lights today and that I am sure of, good questiont though it's not something everyone knows or cares to read up on and I know your not the only ones who panic when noticing these lights, but the reason for the 5 second pop-up and beeping is just to notify you that basically these components are working and doing there job. If they didn't pop up especially the engine one or airbag srs one I would be concerned then. If they stay on then normally the SRS light is not a big deal unless you seriously think you could tend to be in an accident, because if it stays on the airbag or airbags are disconnected in most cases. If the engine/maintence light stays on you better be ready for a big bill, something is seriously wrong inside the engine if that happens. Hondas engine lights aren't like domestic cars and trucks they mean you seriously got a problem so tend to it immediatly, technically in the brocure that comes with the car it probably states pull over immediatly after you notice this like has come on when your car is on. goodluck guys glad I could help
