if the tranny and starter is bolted up still just hookup the starter to do the compression test if not then do a leak down . otherwise you never know the condition of the motor! also double check the motor if H22A it's JDM if H22A4 it's USDM and thats very imporant if your in a state like california where JDM motor are not allowed except if direct replacement.
