oh yeah try and get the crank bolt off first, that way if you have any problems with it, you'll still be able to drive it to a mech. and have them remove it for you. I followed the Helm's and by the time I got to the crank pulley I was half way through and couldn't get it off. That set me back a day because I couldn't drive it anywhere, so I had to search for that damn tool that honda recommends. Good Lck
The crank bolt never needs to come off when replacing the headgasket.
