In Louisiana, the gun can be concealed in my vehicle even if I don't have a CCW (which I'm sending in the app for this week) as my car is an extension of my home. Also, there are no laws against having a round in the chamber in the car. That'd be for safety only but would also mean it would take longer to be "ready."
