Jaguar had a terrible problem with their electrical systems. When they were bought by Ford, they we're helped greatly with this by Ford. Also, 2000 and below Jag's had a nickel plated block. As the nickel was eaten away, the car would lose compression. Needless to say, costly repair. The timing chain replacements are also a VERY financialy intense ordeal. Granted they failed in only a small percentage, the repair was well over $3,000. Newer Jag's though, good cars. Just keep up on the maitenence. I'll have my XK8 hardtop one day.
