It could be alot of things, who did your motor work? Someone reputable or some "dude".
Could be valveseals, but this is the least likely option.
Do a compression test and a leak down test if the compression test is bad. This will tell you if it is the piston rings.
FYI I had an oil consuming/burning problem after I installed a turbo, and I couldn't figure out where it was going. I even did a compression test and a leakdown test, and the comp test pretty much gave good results, so I was stumped...Thought it was head gasket, ripped of the head only to find out it was perfectly fine, no rupture. So I put it all back together and started it up, and it seemed ok while it was idling... I drove around the block and the problem was back. It had to be the rings I thought... So I ripped the entire motor apart, took out the pistons and almost overlooked the fact that ALL of the pistons had cracked ring lands. That was the problem, I replaced the pistons with lower compression ones from LS and got new rings and a headgasket, and the car runs PERFECT, no smoke or oil consumption AT ALL even with 10+psi.
Here's a clue, pull your PCV valve and see if there is smoke coming from the hose, if so then it's likely you have the same problem as me.
Smoke out of PCV = Excess Blow-by = oil cunsumption
P.S. I had counltess people and mechanics tell me my prob was valveseals, even though I disagreed, and it turns out they are perfect. It is a favorite reason as to why the car burns smoke, but it is most common in engines where the redline is lower, AKA american cars. Besides the DOHC VTEC engines have such small tolerances, that I doubt the valveseals will ever leak because they are designed and built so well.
Hope this helps
