Yes, my car did this on my old RacingHart 18" +42mm rims 225-40-18, but it doesn't do this at all now on my BBS 17"s running a 225-45-17 tire. But my new offset is now +46 from +42 that slight bit made a huge change in the feel of the car. OEM my Accord was +55mm.
Tire choice can also play a role too. I had some cheap Kumhos 712s on the 18's but I have some more up market Potenza RE050A Pole Positions on the 17"s now. The more expensive tire definately imparts a better feel to the car. So that too may help account for the lack of tram-lining on the road. It definately accounts for less road noise.
I'm a huge fan of smaller is better in terms of rim performance...but I'm like one of maybe 3 folks on earth with this opinion.
