That sentence doesn't quite make sense. You said you want a b18b1 and are asking if you should go with VTEC?
b18b1 motors are non-vtec. If you're asking to go frankenstein(non vtec engine w/ vtec head), I would recommend against it unless you're very familiar with swaps and understand engines well.
As Kai recommended, I would go with a b18a1 instead. It's MUCH easier for wiring, and has only 8-10hp less.
