it's possible that it's never been changed. If not, changing it could correct the problem. It needs it anyhow and it's the cheapest alternative. It needs to be flushed, which means you have to get someone else to do it. They usually charge about 60 bucks for this. If you want to do it yourself, you can drain the old (but it will leave much old fluid behind) add new fluid, drive it a bit (to mix it in) then drain and refill again and you will have changed most of it. Be sure to use Honda fluid ONLY>
