Yea, the one model of the camry might have 268hp (I think) but its also a bigger, heavier car.
I wouldn't say they have cheap interiors, my wife only drives Toyotas and they've always been top quality. They're also more reliable than Hondas but they do suffer from lack luster styling up until the newest Camry model. It actually is quite eye catching and people are wondering why Toyota made such a bold move to make the new Camry so eye catching because some fear they risk losing their grandpa customer base.
