I have no idea, but any high boost setup will need them because the screw clamps will not hold those pipes together. Ideally, you would want as few couplings as possible, but that would require a lot of welding with the piping already installed on the car.
my friend witht he STi blew off one of his stock pipes after he tuned the car. they couldnt understand why he was making only 290 to the wheels with all his mods, turns out there was a massive boost leak and the turbo was running like it was feeding 30-40 psi
