Are you asking if it's possible to just leave it in one gear, and just use the gas and brake pedal? (like an automatic?)

Thus, the difference between manual transmission and automatic transmission is that the car/machine does the shifting for you in an automatic transmission...and you do the shifting yourself for a manual transmission.

If you don't want to be in control and able to change gears at your own desire, switch your car to an automatic transmission. Otherwise, stick it out and use your clutch. It only takes half a second.

Yes, all the manual transmission cars I've driven were like that. If the rpm's drop too low, the car can stall. Install a remote start in your MT car, and leave it in gear. If you start it remotely, does the car jump forward and die, or would it keep going forward like an automatic?

It's the price you pay for having greater control over your car. You asked for it, so now you got it. The transmission isn't going to control it for you when you feel lazy. Clutch it, shift to neutral, and coast when possible. There's no need to stay on the tail of the person ahead of you. Having a gap in front of you is nice anyway. You can use it to change lanes. And on my accord with HID's, it's an insurance for me...if I get rear-ended or whatever, I don't want my un-insured HID lights ramming the car ahead of me ;-)

On my TSX, I used to shift out of 1st at 10 mph...but in heavy traffic, I'll leave it in 1st (less shifting)...the TSX can go up to 25 mph or so in 1st (it's a high revving engine).
