So, on my (paid)vacation next week I'm going to paint the living room and hallway and prep the kitchen/dining room. The roomie's aunt is the one supplying paint, etc. We were discussing the kitchen and she mentioned that you can paint countertops... has anyone done this? And if so, how does it fair through normal use?

They don't want to replace anything (carpet, flooring, counter tops) since the house is not ready to sell anytime soon.
