Yes 2/2 equals 1. Those are 2 diffrent "ways" of saying the same thing. 2 diffrent forms of the same.
But you cannot compare the same form of things to each other unless they are 100% the same.
You cannot simply say 1/3 = .333 repeating plus 2/3 repeating = .666 repeating and that all adds up to 1. No, 1/3 + 2/3 = 1. But .333 + .666 = .999 that doesn't mean .999 is 1.
