Jl has MANY wiring diagrams on their website: www.jlaudio.com under tutorials. You should really visit that site. It will help you understand how to wire your subs.

And you should not have been running your amp at 1 ohm. That could have fried your amp.

As for your subs, double check your wiring AGAIN before powering them up again. If they still distort when you crank it up too much, then sorry, because you fried the voice coils......:nono:
