they've basically extended the windshield over the front seats, so you have a wide, open glass roof for the driver and front passenger. neat idea. the glass is heat absorbing, and there's a shade that can be pulled forward if there's too much sun to handle. maybe this'll make it into a saturn, some day?

Glass roof is a bargain on Astra
Vauxhall is making it Astra available with a glass roof - and giving the first 500 customers a hefty discount on the new model.
Just 500 Astra GTCs will be produced, priced at £15,995. That's £5 less than the standard Astra Sports Hatch, even though the GTC comes with panoramic windscreen, 18in alloy wheels, air conditioning, sports seats, ESP, a trip computer and front fog lights.
The launch models will be available in red, black and silver - all will use a 1.8-litre engine, giving a 0-60mph time of 10 seconds and a top speed of 124mph.
After the GTC production run, the Panoramic roof will become an £850 option across the Astra Sport Hatch range.
