fyi gm is not the only one to have gone to plastic intake manifolds, ford has as well as well as chrysler on select models; and they all have issues with cracking, what they did is on most of them the oe unit was designed with too thin of walls especially around the egr port and the aftermarket and redesigned oe one corrects this problem. again u are pickin one issue that has been corrected and harping a manufactor
