In this particualr buildup emissions related equipment is not a primary concern, other than a cat, which I have to have to pass the visual inspection. There's no sniffer tests, and this car will be running mild cams, so emissions levels should be low. The engine I'm building is going to be stripped of some of the BS associated with modern day powerplants. In this case, the fuel injection unit is for the control of fuel (as well as a knock sensor, just in case.) I build my cars to run strong and run clean. My last car made 360 hp to the wheels, got 24 mpg on the highway, and even weighing in at 3300 lbs (not including driver,) could do the 1/8 in just under 8 seconds, took home an SCCA Regional Class Championship, all while meeting emissions standards (sniffer test-wise) for a car 7 years newer, the only emissions equipment was a catalytic converter. So, I ask the question again, who makes chips for an H23A1 ECU running an A/T?
