So, if I bought the $350 mp3 player off of ebay -- is this something that would typically be pretty easy to install?
I am assuming that it is one or two cables, a power supply and the signal. I am not too familiar wtih audio installs with cars. Or one cable into the back of the original unit? And the power is daisy chained? How easy would it be to run this cable into the back of the unit? Or would there be an extension off the back of the original unit down near where the MP3 player would go that you just jack into?
I'm no audiophile, although I do like music. I personally can't tell the differnece of a mp3 encoded at 192 and a cd.
I'm trying to determine if it is easy enough to do myself w/o pulling the whole car apart to get in or if it is worth paying the dealer to do.
I have had to do a headunit install on a Nissan and the dash was a puzzle. Each piece interlocked, and I had to start all the way at the passenger floor, across the dash, etc.. etc.. to get the dash off to install the headunit. Are Honda's similar to this?
Added: What do you mean by auxilirary(sp?) Would this be an input on the back of the head unit that would allow one to connect an external source such as the Neo Car MP3 player? That is tempting b/c you can put your own drive in there, and the price of 160gb drives these days, thats very tempting. However, I don't like the idea of the FM Modulator.
