the French are well...French...they lead at nothing but instigating quarrels...their opinion is limited and often hedged as they will never really stick their heads out...so best result is to ignore them just like the British normally do
Unfortunately there is not going to be much support at this time for any military action against Iran, and because Russia and China are such large bed-fellows with the Iranians action in the Security Council is going to be next to nothing. We need to build a much stronger case for a military action against Iran as that will be the only way to make them stop their enrichment. Israel cannot do it alone as they did against the Osirik nuclear reactor in Iraq, so there needs to be some other strong link to terrorism, a terrorist attack, or something to justify the use of force.

I have no faith in diplomacy. Call me a defeatist on that one because I am. The only thing diplomacy will do is buy Iran enough time to create a nuclear bomb or weapon. And for Iran they would only need enough for a dirty bomb before they send it to Israel in a suicide vest. Only then would the world support military action. It is pretty sad that time and time again we must wait for a horrific act for the world to do something. Before WW2 Hitler was given all the chances possible and the world looked the other way as he annexed Austria, invaded Poland & the Suddetenland, and put restrictions on Jews. Now you have a similar tyrant and the world (Europeans especially) want to talk to him. History repeats itself...I hope it is not the case here.
