for a temporary job to get someone up and started its normal. helps a newbie gain some experience. potential to go permanent and move up in position will determine the job's value to you.
that being said.... $12/hr for a fulltime job where you have no plans to move up.... then you'll be making ~$2100/month. good luck surviving in LA with that. thats $1080/paycheck....GROSS. take out taxes and other deductions. say hello to a piece of shit check for $750-800.
again, this is good for someone to get started and back on their feet. but isnt that what all entry level jobs are for anyway?
