Ya, you have a timing belt. If that broke, when you crank your car over you would hear metal to metal contact because the pistons would be running into some of the valves. A quick way to check would be to remove the distributor cap and have someone crank the engine. If the rotor inside the distributor is turning, then the timing belt should be intact.
