You can get any number of nav units that clip to yer windshield and you can leave out of the car completely when you don't need it. I mean, I dunno about you but most of the time I'm driving somewhere I already know how to get to.
Read my post above as to what aftermarket navi I'd be looking for. Those ones that stick on the windshield have such small screens.
